County of Kauaʻi is seeking a Police Evidence Clerk to perform clerical and public contact duties related to property and evidence in the Kauaʻi Police Department.
You will enter data into the Records Management System, scan files, perform QA checks, prepare letters, and assist in locating and transporting evidence.
Requirements include a high school diploma, 1 year general and 1 year clerical experience, a Hawaii driver’s license, and firearms qualification if applicable.

Performs a variety of moderately difficult clerical and public contact duties involving the maintenance and review of records and documents related to property and evidence processed through the Kauai Police Department; and performs other related duties as required.
Training and Experience: A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from high school; and one (1) year of general work experience, and one (1) year of clerical experience.
Qualifying General Work Experience: Any work experience which may involve the basic skills: reading, writing, computation and communication.
Qualifying Clerical Experience: Work experience which involved the performance of a variety of clerical tasks and demonstrated knowledge of office practices and procedures, and the ability to carry out procedures in clerical work systems, and operate various kinds of office equipment including computers, Microsoft Office, and other technologies.
License Requirement: Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license (Hawaii type 3 or equivalent).
Firearms Requirements: As applicable to the position, must be qualified to carry and/or possess firearms or ammunition in accordance with State and Federal law, e.g., no misdemeanor or felony domestic violence conviction.
