The City of McAllen is seeking a Community Service Specialist (CSS) to assist Police Department operations, perform routine non-hazardous duties in the field and office, and provide information and reporting support. This non-sworn role supports crime prevention and police supply issuance while reporting to sworn officers or supervisory staff.

Ideal candidates are customer-focused, organized, and capable of handling multiple tasks with integrity and accountability.

Community Service Specialist (CSS)

Under general supervision, the Community Service Specialist (CSS) is a non-sworn employee assigned to the Police Department who reports to either sworn officers of any rank or non-sworn supervisory employees. Under general supervision, performs a variety of routine, non-hazardous work at the Police Department and in the field, provides and acquires information, makes reports, performs crime prevention duties, issuance of police supplies and auxiliary police duties.
