Job summary

The City of McAllen is seeking a friendly, approachable receptionist/phone assistant to greet callers and help resolve their concerns. You will provide courteous service to a diverse community and work with independent thinking and tact to direct inquiries as appropriate.

In addition, you may support emergency management functions as directed, contributing to public safety and continuity of city operations while upholding the values of integrity, accountability and commitment.

Job description

The purpose of this position is to greet callers on the phone in a friendly and cheerful manner with the intent of solving the caller's concern. This position works with diverse populations by using tact, courtesy and independent thinking. The employee assists with emergency management functions of the City as directed.
