City of Holts Summit seeks a Police Captain/Assistant Chief to oversee daily patrol operations and report to the Chief of Police. This leadership role requires managing personnel, ensuring policy compliance, and guiding strategic goals to maintain public safety.

Qualifications

• Seven years of law enforcement experience.
• Leadership experience preferred (Sergeant or above).
• Missouri Driver’s License with good record; MO POST license; no felony or crimes of moral indecency.
• Pre-employment background check, physical and drug screening.
• Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local laws.
• Sit/stand for up to 12 hours; wear duty gear; operate police vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Foster strong relationships with the public and responders.
• Communicate professionally regarding police matters to officials and the public.
• Prepare and present oral and written reports; coordinate with City officials.
• Supervise staff; ensure protocol per CJIS, MULES and reporting standards.
• Plan and implement law enforcement and code enforcement programs.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
