Job summary

City of Independence in Missouri is seeking a Cadet to begin the path toward becoming an Independence Police Officer. The role rotates through various units and provides essential support to the department while you train and develop.

Applicants must be 18–20 years old, possess a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record, and pass multiple assessments including a written exam, physical agility test, oral board, polygraph, psychological evaluation,

Position Summary

Position provides a clear pathway to becoming an Independence Police Officer and provides needed support to units within the Independence Police Department. Duties are performed on a rotational basis through various units of the Independence Police Department.

Minimum Qualification

Salary and Benefits

The City offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes health and dental insurance, retirement program through LAGERS, paid holidays, and vacation.

Salary Range

$15.00 Hourly, $31,200 Annually.

Written Examination and Physical Agility Test

Applicants will be required to take both a written test and a physical agility test (Gym clothes required). Applicants selected to test will be notified by e-mail of the time and location of the testing. Letters will be mailed to applicants not invited to test.
