Job summary

City of Huntington Park is seeking an experienced administrator to lead the Police Department’s Administration Division, including Communications, Records, Youth Services, Crime Analysis, and Information Systems, while coordinating budget development and grant activities with city leadership.

The role requires strong supervision, policy development, and effective liaison with other agencies; you will prepare staff reports, oversee service contracts, and ensure compliant, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration or closely related field, Master’s preferred.
• Five+ years of administrative or management experience in police records, grants, budgets.
• Valid California Class C Driver’s License.
• Bilingual pay eligibility for Spanish is available.

Responsibilities

• Administer Police Department divisions and coordinate administration across divisions.
• Prepare and administer budgets, grants, and directives for department goals.
• Supervise staff, develop procedures, and ensure compliance with laws and policies.
• Prepare staff reports and liaise with City leadership and partner agencies.
• Oversee contracts, equipment, and service providers; manage confidential information.
