Job summary

Meyer Utility Structures in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Plant Welding Technician to support production welding and welding process optimization at our utility pole plant. The role emphasizes hands-on welding, inspection, and ensuring quality while maintaining documentation and safety standards.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting welding techniques, training shop staff on procedures and safety, qualifying welding procedures, and maintaining training records, with focus on continuous improvement

Qualifications

• 3–5 years FCAW, SAW, and SMAW welding experience.
• Able to read welding symbols, procedures, drawings and BOMs.
• AWS D1.1 knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide welding support to production welders and supervisors.
• Troubleshoot welding techniques and equipment issues.
• Maintain welder continuity and equipment calibration.
• Evaluate and implement welding process improvements.
• Conduct welding safety and procedure training on shop floor and classroom.
• Assist in qualifying welding procedure specifications and records.
• Oversee daily pole school operations and training records.
• Participate in welding improvement projects.
