Job summary

Durham Academy is seeking a part-time Varsity Track and Field Assistant Coach with a specialization in pole vault to coach and mentor high school athletes in the pole vault event. The role involves teaching mechanics, devising workouts, and coordinating with fellow coaches and parents, reporting to the Head Coaches.

Ideal candidates will have experience as pole vault competitors at the high school or college level, strong communication skills, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Experience competing as a pole vault athlete at the high school or college level.
• Can teach basic, intermediate, and advanced skills regarding mechanics, technique, and form.
• Must be able to develop and implement workouts for varying skill levels.
• Ability to communicate and work well with other coaches, parents, and student-athletes.
• Enjoy helping student-athletes reach their potential.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Attend practices and meets.

Responsibilities

• Teaching, coaching, and mentoring 5-10 high school athletes in pole vault.
• Report directly to the Head Coaches.
• Attend practices and meets as scheduled.
