Job summary

Saint Joseph’s College of Maine invites applications for the position of Assistant Coach - Track & Field, with a primary focus on pole vault. This is a part-time, stipend paid position available for the 2026-2027 season.

The Assistant Coach will assist the Head Coach with the Track & Field program, including practices, recruitment, and travel coordination. A bachelor’s degree and 5 years of collegiate coaching experience are required; certification and CPR/First Aid are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 5 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level or a comparable competitive environment
• National coaching certification preferred
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred
• Must have a valid driver’s license, complete a driver training program and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record

Responsibilities

• Attending practices, home and away games
• Assisting with training and teaching student-athletes
• Recruiting high school student-athletes (calling, traveling to watch games, meeting recruits and parents during campus visits, etc.)
• Assisting with home and away game preparation and strategy, prepare for opponents, and assist with team travel
