Job summary

Saint Joseph’s College of Maine invites applications for the position of Assistant Coach - Track & Field, with a focus on pole vault. This is a part-time, stipend-paid role for the 2026-2027 season, located in Standish, Maine.

The assistant will support the Head Coach and contribute to all phases of the program. Responsibilities include attending practices, coaching athletes, recruiting high school athletes, and assisting with game preparation and travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level or a comparable competitive environment.
• National coaching certification preferred.
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, complete a driver training program and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Head Coach with primary focus on coaching pole vault.
• Develops and manages all phases of the Track & Field program at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine.
• Attends practices, home and away games.
• Assists with training and teaching student-athletes.
• Recruits high school student-athletes and coordinates campus visits, calls, and travel arrangements.
• Assists with home and away game preparation and strategy, and team travel planning.
