The Assistant Coach will assist the Head Coach for Track & Field, with responsibilities including attending practices, home and away meets, recruiting high school student-athletes, and helping with travel and game planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years coaching experience at collegiate level or comparable environment.
• National coaching certification preferred.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Coach with Track & Field duties, focusing on pole vault.
• Attend practices, home and away meets, and team travel.
• Recruit high school athletes and communicate with recruits and families.
• Assist with game preparation and strategy and opponent scouting.

Salary Range: $1,000.00 To $4,500.00 Annually

Saint Joseph’s College of Maine, a NCAA Division III member, invites applications for the position of Assistant Coach - Track & Field . This is a part-time, stipend paid position available for the 2026-2027 season.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Coach will assist the Head Coach for Track & Field, with primary focus on coaching pole vault. Additional duties may include development and management of all phases of the Saint Joseph’s College Track & Field program .

Responsibilities include:

• Attending practices, home and away games
• Assisting with training and teaching student-athletes
• Recruiting high school student-athletes (calling, traveling to watch games, meeting recruits and parents during campus visits, etc.)
• Assisting with home and away game preparation and strategy, prepare for opponents, and assist with team travel

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 5 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level or a comparable competitive environment
• National coaching certification (sport specific or equivalent) preferred
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred
• Must have a valid driver’s license, complete a driver training program and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
