Job summary

PG&E in Oakland seeks a Pole Test & Treat Strategy Subject Matter Expert to lead the intrus ive inspection program and develop the annual PTT workplan. You will own the strategy, from eligibility to execution, ensuring regulatory alignment and data integrity across the asset management lifecycle.

The role requires deep expertise in GO 165 requirements, asset-condition knowledge, and governance. This hybrid position can leverage both remote and on-site work as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Master's preferred.
• 10 years related experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Own and continually improve the PTT Playbook, including eligibility criteria, cycle methodology, annual compliance population, and the logic for annual intrusive-inspection work plans.
• Serve as the principal technical SME for GO 165 PTT requirements and translate regulatory requirements into clear program requirements and controls.
• Own the intrusive testing procedure and revise practices to improve testing and evaluation of wood poles.
• Establish forward-looking compliance assurance by validating eligibility and inspection attainment to pre-emptively identify poles entering the required population.
• Support cause analysis evaluations and corrective actions when failures occur, investigating gaps and risks.
• Integrate PTT into the broader pole lifecycle and asset-health strategy for repairs, reinforcement, maintenance, and replacement decisions.
• Provide regulatory, audit and WMP controls data responses and ensure records are traceable and retrievable.
• Offer strategic recommendations for future PTT scope, cycles, and program improvements.
