Job summary

Ameristar Casino Resort Spa in Colorado is hiring for a Poker Room Supervisor role. You will oversee daily poker operations, ensure game integrity, and lead a team of dealers with a focus on customer service and compliance.

Responsibilities include enforcing game procedures, monitoring guest play, handling guest concerns, and maintaining confidentiality. Must hold Colorado gaming license, and be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Competitive benefits apply from day one.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year casino dealer experience preferred.
  • Fluent English required (spoken and written).
  • Must comply with state gaming laws and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities
  • Acknowledges, greets, and converses with all guests; helps and provides information to anyone showing an interest in gaming.
  • Provides fast, flawless, personalized service to players.
  • Consistently builds and maintains rapport with guests.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of the games dealt.
  • Complies with all company and departmental policies and procedures, State Gaming Regulations, and Internal Controls.
  • Conducts assigned game according to the procedure.
  • Ensures appropriate game protection.
  • Ensures appropriate game pace for all players.
  • Ensures buy-in's are made quickly and accurately.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all company matters.
Supervisory Duties - (Starting Pay Rate $28.00 per hour)
  • Ensure enforcement of game procedures and policies as outlined in the company and departmental manuals, and in accordance with Internal Controls, monitors for compliance.
  • Tracks guest play and relays all pertinent information to the immediate supervisor.
  • Settles minor disputes and guest concerns in a professional and timely manner, escalates to immediate supervisor when necessary.
  • Informs immediate supervisor and Surveillance team of unnatural or irregular play.
  • Reports significant cash and cheque transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with Title 31 requirements and processes.
  • Responsible for the accountability of the chips, cards, and all other gaming equipment.
  • Responsible for the overall integrity of daily Poker Room operations on assigned shift.
  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with departmental and company standards and programs.
  • Ensures customer service standards are followed by all team members and addresses issues as they arise.
  • Promote a positive environment for all guests and team members to promote the return visit of guests and achieve job satisfaction for all team members.
  • Ensures team members have the tools needed to do their jobs to maximize efficiency.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
  • Provide visible leadership in gaming operation areas.
  • Ability to observe and identify suspicious players, as well as to observe and direct actions of subordinates.
  • Must be proficient in computer knowledge to include keyboarding skills, all Microsoft Office applications, email usage, and database, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, team members, and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts diplomatically and tactfully.
  • Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. - Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a dealer in a casino establishment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be fluent and literate in English.
  • Knowledgeable of applicable state gaming laws and regulations.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Must have basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to work any shift or hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
