Responsibilities

• Enforces POC policies and procedures to ensure CLIA and state regulatory compliance
• Acts as CLIA-defined Technical Consultant, managing qualifications and regulatory documentation
• Manages comprehensive training programs for POC staff and maintains competency records
• Handles full lifecycle of POC support tickets and coordinates troubleshooting with CS Hospice (CSH) teams
• Leads POC-related projects through design and implementation phases, ensuring governance change requests are validated

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Point of Care (POC) Coordinator, you will help clinical laboratory teams and hospital departments standardize and maintain high-quality diagnostic testing systems so they can ensure accurate patient results and total regulatory compliance across multiple facilities. Every day you will oversee the daily operation and maintenance of the Point of Care system, including equipment oversight, database management, and troubleshooting. You will be expected to act as the primary technical liaison, managing the entire lifecycle of POC support tickets, performing staff training, and ensuring that all system policies and documentation meet rigorous CLIA and state regulatory standards. To be successful in this role, you must possess strong technical knowledge of laboratory information systems and middleware, demonstrate proficiency in regulatory compliance (CLIA), and exhibit excellent communication skills to coordinate complex projects across multiple hospital locations.

• Operational Management: Oversees daily Point of Care (POC) operations, including generating accurate management reports, maintaining system user access, and ensuring equipment maintenance and functionality
• Regulatory Compliance & Policy: Develops and enforces POC policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with all state and federal regulatory standards, including CLIA requirements
• Technical Consultation: Serves as the CLIA-defined Technical Consultant, managing personnel qualifications, coordinating testing activities, and overseeing the maintenance of all required regulatory documentation
• Training & Competency: Manages comprehensive training programs for POC staff and key operators, ensuring all competency records and continuing education documentation meet legal requirements
• Issue Resolution & Ticketing: Manages the full lifecycle of POC support tickets and collaborates with CSH support to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
• Project Leadership & Governance: Represents the laboratory on POC-related projects throughout the design and implementation phases while validating all governance-related change requests

Job Requirements

Required

• Bachelor's degree in biological or chemical sciences, as defined by CLIA
• 2 years clinical laboratory experience
• State license requirements - North Dakota: MT-L:ND
• Job duties require considerable knowledge of the principles and practices related to point of care systems in order to act as Lab POC SME (Subject Matter Expert).

Preferred

• Minimum 2 years POC Coordinator experience in an Acute Care setting
