Job summary

US Foot & Ankle Specialists is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our podiatry practice and support physicians in a fast‑paced outpatient setting. You will work directly with patients, gain hands‑on experience, and participate in hands‑on training and ongoing clinical development.

The ideal candidate has MA training or 1+ year clinical experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to travel between local offices as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program OR 1+ year of clinical experience.
• CMA or RMA certification preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced clinic environment.
• Detail‑oriented, professional, and patient‑focused.
• Ability to travel between local office locations, as needed.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures.
• Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR.
• Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services.
• Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education.
• Manage lab specimens, verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed.
• Make post-operative calls, answer questions, and provide excellent customer service.
• Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage supplies.
• Maintain documentation, support back‑office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance.
