Job summary

US Foot & Ankle Specialists is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our podiatry practice and provide hands-on patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

You'll welcome patients, assist physicians with procedures, document in the EMR, manage specimens, and support back-office operations while upholding HIPAA compliance and compassionate, patient-focused service. Training is provided to grow clinical skills and readiness for diverse podiatry services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program OR 1+ year of clinical experience.
• Certification such as CMA or RMA preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinic environment.
• Detail-oriented, professional, and patient-focused.
• Ability to travel between local office locations, as needed.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures.
• Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR.
• Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services.
• Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education.
• Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed.
• Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service.
• Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies.
• Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance.
