Job summary

Balance Health in Reno, NV is hiring a skilled Medical Assistant (back office or CMA) to partner with physicians and team members on clinical and administrative duties. This role supports a positive patient experience and smooth workflow across two office locations within Balance Health’s podiatry-focused practice.

The position requires 1–2 years MA experience, an HP diploma, strong communication, and the ability to handle fast-paced environments. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of Medical Assistant experience in a medical office (podiatry preferred).
• Minimum of high-school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to handle challenging situations with patience and professionalism.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes.
• Strong time management and organizational skills, prioritizing daily tasks.
• Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication with patients, physicians, coworkers, and vendors.
• Must be reliable reporting to work on time and collaborate in a team.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine clinical tasks to support the medical team.
• Obtains and confirms prior authorizations on record.
• Prepares and cleans exam rooms and sterilizes instruments for minor procedures.
• Escorts patients to exam rooms and manages patient flow.
• Assists doctors and communicates with insurance for proper billing.
• Documents patient medical history and updates medication lists.
• Orders diabetic shoes and laboratory tests.
• Cross-trains to assist the front desk.
• Operates an EMR system; phlebotomy or injections are a plus.
• Other duties as needed.
