Job summary

Balance Health’s Nevada Foot and Ankle Centers in Reno seeks a hardworking Medical Assistant to support physicians in the back office and, optionally, the front desk. The role emphasizes patient experience, workflow efficiency, and accurate charting within an EMR environment.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of MA experience, a high school diploma, and strong communication skills. Travel between two offices may be required; phlebotomy/injections are a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years as Medical Assistant in a medical office; podiatry preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to handle fast-paced environment with professionalism.
• Willingness to travel between two locations as needed.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine clinical tasks to support the medical team.
• Obtains and confirms prior authorizations on record.
• Prepares and cleans exam rooms, sterilizes instruments for procedures.
• Escorts patients to exam rooms and manages patient flow.
• Assists doctors and handles administrative duties in a timely manner.
• Communicates with insurance companies for proper billing procedures.
• Documents patient history and updates medication lists.
• Orders diabetic shoes, lab work, and pathology as needed.
• Cross-trained to assist the front desk and uses EMR systems.
• Openness to phlebotomy and injections; not required.
