Job summary

WFAI is seeking a skilled Medical Coder specializing in podiatry to review clinical documentation and assign ICD-10 and CPT codes for inpatient and outpatient records. You will ensure accurate coding for billing, reporting, and regulatory compliance.

This role requires 3+ years of podiatry coding, CPC/CCS-P certification, and knowledge of E/M and surgical coding. Strong communication and time management are essential, with opportunities to impact workflow and reduce denials.

Qualifications

• Certified CPC or CCS-P required.
• COC certification a plus.
• Certification in conjunction with podiatry coding experience (E/M and surgical).
• 3+ years coding in podiatry/foot and ankle ortho; wound care a plus.
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS, modifiers; regulatory/payer guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation to assign ICD-10/CPT codes for inpatient/outpatient records.
• Ensure accurate, timely coding for billing, reporting, and compliance.
• Monitor turnaround time and productivity; follow up with physicians/ staff.
• Generate reports and analyze code utilization, denials, reimbursement terms.
• Provide coding feedback to providers and revenue cycle leadership.
