Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Point of Care Testing Specialist to oversee POCT across the organization, ensuring regulatory compliance and quality assurance. The role partners with laboratory leadership and clinical staff to optimize POCT data management and test utilization.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, ASCP/NCA certification, and at least 3 years of clinical laboratory experience including 1 year in POCT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or an applied science from an accredited institution, including completion of a clinical internship.
• Certification by ASCP or NCA or equivalent as Medical Technologist or CLS/MLT, or specialty certification.
• Minimum of 3 years clinical laboratory experience, including at least 1 year of POCT experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains current knowledge of POCT methods, devices, and data management systems; serves as SME across the organization.
• Consults with laboratory staff, test site managers, providers, and administration on POCT practices and regulatory compliance.
• Supports evaluation, validation, and implementation of POCT methodologies and data management systems.
