Aerotek in Lisle, IL is hiring a POC Assembler Assistant to support proof-of-concept, prototype, and development builds in a clean lab-based manufacturing environment. You will perform hands-on assembly, follow drawings, and maintain high quality across multiple projects.

Expect 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with a pay rate of $21 per hour or higher. This contract-to-hire role emphasizes safety, organization, and cross-training across plant areas.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months of assembly experience.
  • Strong hand dexterity and ability to perform detailed manual assembly work.
  • Ability to stand and perform repetitive tasks for 8-10 hours per shift.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints.
  • Basic understanding of electrical principles, circuit layouts, wiring, and soldering when applicable.
  • Comfort using hand tools, hand presses, fixtures, and small machines.
  • Ability to use microscopes, digital measuring devices, and basic inspection equipment.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Flexible attitude and willingness to be cross-trained and support multiple areas of the plant.

  • Identify and flag assembly, component, material, or quality issues during the build process.
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints to guide assembly and inspection activities.
  • Apply basic knowledge of electrical principles and circuit layouts when applicable to the build.
  • Participate in technical discussions regarding product and proof-of-concept assembly to support continuous improvement.
  • Assist with organization of components, materials, tools, and project items to maintain efficient workflows.
  • Support inventory, material handling, receiving, and shipping activities as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area at all times.
  • Follow company safety and quality procedures consistently.
  • Stand and perform repetitive assembly and inspection tasks for 8-10 hours per shift.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by cross-training and assisting in other areas of the plant as needed.

Job Description

The POC Assistant supports proof-of-concept, prototype, and product development activities by performing hands-on assembly and basic inspection of components and builds. This role requires strong hand dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision while working across multiple projects and processes in a clean, lab-based manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Recognize discrepancies between drawings, instructions, components, and actual build conditions and Escalate as needed.
  • Communicate concerns to the team and seek guidance when requirements or inspection results are unclear.
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints to guide assembly and inspection activities.
  • Apply basic knowledge of electrical principles and circuit layouts when applicable to the build.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lisle, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
