Job summary

VIAVI Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer specialized in PNT and complex system architecture. The role covers end-to-end PNT design, requirements management, integration, verification, and validation, with hands-on development of simulations to characterize performance and resilience.

You will work on timing products, GNSS techniques, clock management, and embedded software in C/C++, Python, MATLAB/Simulink, contributing to defence-grade solutions and demonstrations for

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering (Aerospace, Electrical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Systems Engineering, or related).
• Demonstrated experience in systems engineering, including requirements management, system architecture, integration, and verification and validation.
• Systems engineering and product development life cycle.
• Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS): GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, etc.
• Timing systems and clock management.
• MATLAB and Simulink.
• Python and/or C/C++.
• Embedded software fundamentals.
• interest in advanced defence technologies

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyse and formalise internal and external stakeholders’ needs relating to resilient PNT systems.
• Define end-to-end PNT system architectures.
• Develop and maintain PNT architecture, design, and interface documentation and interface control documentation.
• Develop simulation environments to characterize PNT solution performance and robustness.
• Design, integrate and support PNT solutions for trials, demonstrations and trade shows, clock disciplining, and holdover strategies.
• Contribute to assured PNT strategies for operation in GNSS degraded or contested environments.
