Job summary

Jobtailor in Houston, TX is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead matrix teams through multi-year projects, coordinating cross-functional resources from the parent company and suppliers.

You will ensure adherence to contractual commitments, manage budgets, and report on project performance and market trends. Travel 25% domestically and internationally is expected. PMI PMP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in project management, construction management, business administration, finance, computer science, engineering or related field, or equivalent via education and/or work experience.
• 2 years of project management experience in electrical and automation systems for relevant industries with contracts > $1M.
• Demonstrated commercial negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated financial acumen to ensure sound business decisions.
• Proven client, supplier, and internal/external relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage matrix team to complete execution of projects with a typical cycle of 1 to 2 years.
• Coordinate cross-functional project teams for successful execution and meeting company objectives.
• Ensure client contractual commitments are met.
• Recommend and implement risk assessments and abatement plans to stay within budgets.
• Serve as single point of contact for clients on assigned projects.
• Identify, resolve, and communicate resolutions to client issues, escalating when needed.
• Collect, analyze, and report business unit data to management.
• Provide timely updates on project performance, processes, market trends, and client relationships to management.
• Identify opportunities and provide recommendations to improve sales management and project execution.
• Maintain records of project communications, contract variations, projects, and activities according to guidelines.
