PMP Certified Project Manager - Hybrid Role in Towson, MD

This is a hybrid role based in Towson, MD (21204), working 3 days/week onsite and 2 days/week remotely.

The contract duration is 12 months with potential extensions. The schedule is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern, Monday to Friday.

Background

A Senior Project Manager is needed to manage, communicate, and coordinate all Public Safety projects and daily operations related to these projects. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Public Safety and holding a PMI PMP certification.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage specific project work.
• Handle day-to-day project management, identify issues and risks, and suggest mitigation strategies.
• Ensure work is within scope, meets requirements, and is delivered on time and within budget.
• Identify critical paths, tasks, dates, testing, and acceptance criteria. Propose efficiency improvements.
• Monitor issues and provide resolutions, maintaining up-to-date status reports.
• Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Develop meeting agendas and materials.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

• At least 7 years of successful project management experience managing large, high-profile, and sensitive projects.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Experience managing business process, software, and hardware implementation projects using Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
• Proficiency in creating and managing project documentation as per PMI standards.
• Experience with SDLC and PMI project deliverables.
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Project, Excel, Word).
• Experience with executive-level presentations and communication.
• Exceptional organization and coordination skills.
• Ability to work from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., five days a week.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

• Experience with Microsoft Project Server and SharePoint.
• Previous experience working in government entities (federal, state, or local).
• Experience supporting public safety systems.
