Job summary

Citizens is seeking a PMO leader to support the Head of NEXT PMO in operationalizing the PMO framework, maintaining governance discipline, enabling cross-workstream integration, and preparing executive-level reporting.

As part of the NEXT PMO team, you will govern tollgates, dashboards, risk tracking, and deliverables; you will drive accountability across functions while delivering executive-ready materials for leadership.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of project or program management experience, supporting retail banking, branch operations, technology, workforce, or large-scale operating model transformation preferred
• Demonstrated experience standing up governance frameworks, operating cadences, and executive reporting rhythms for senior leadership audiences
• Ability to influence without direct authority, drive accountability across cross-functional teams, and escalate risks or decisions in a constructive, solutions-oriented manner
• Proven ability to manage complex portfolios with multiple workstreams and stakeholders
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across senior leadership and diverse partner groups

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Head of NEXT PMO to build, operationalize, and evolve the NEXT PMO framework and operating model
• Establish governance, tollgates, checkpoints, RACI structures, and standardized PMO templates
• Coordinate PMO routines, prepare agendas, document decisions, and ensure follow-ups are completed
• Prepare executive-ready materials and reporting for quarterly updates and status dashboards
• Manage the integrated NEXT roadmap, risks, issues, dependencies, milestones, and owners across workstreams
• Support stakeholder engagement and clearly document decisions, dependencies, risks, and follow-ups
• Champion continuous improvement of the PMO framework, cadence structures, and reporting rhythm
• Utilize Jira, MS Project, SharePoint, and Excel to manage plans and provide leadership visibility into program health
