Job summary

Newberry Group in Frederick, MD is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to support the PMO formation, implement governance, and guide PM tools. You will standardize practices, improve visibility across programs, and help leadership build a mature PMO environment.

Responsibilities include initiating projects per PMBOK, planning scope, timelines, risks and budgets; executing, monitoring, and closing; maintaining dashboards and KPIs; and providing advisory updates to the PMO Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Admin, Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and SDLC.
• Proficiency with MS Project, JIRA, Smartsheet.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Initiate projects per PMBOK guidelines with artifacts and templates.
• Define scope, deliverables, timelines, resources, risks, and budgets.
• Oversee day‑to‑day activities to meet schedule and budget.
• Perform regular progress reviews, quality checks, and risk assessments.
• Report risks, milestones, and changes to stakeholders and PMO manager.
