Job summary

VectorUSA is seeking an experienced Director of PMO to lead and develop our Project Management Office in Torrance, CA. This hands-on role oversees a diverse portfolio across government, ports, healthcare, education, and commercial sectors, ensuring rigorous project controls, budgets, and client commitments.

Qualifications

• Active PMP (Project Management Professional) certification required.
• 7–10 years of progressive project management experience, preferably in technology infrastructure or related fields.
• 5+ years of direct management or leadership experience overseeing Project Managers or delivery teams.
• Experience overseeing multiple concurrent projects and a significant project portfolio.
• Strong understanding of project financial management, including budgets, forecasting, revenue, and gross margin.
• Strong knowledge of scheduling, critical-path method, resource planning, risk management, and project controls.
• Ability to coach, develop, and hold staff accountable.
• Willingness to work full-time onsite in Torrance, CA.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct leadership and day-to-day management of Project Managers and Associate Project Managers.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and lead PMO All Hands and team meetings.
• Establish clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable for PMO standards and results.
• Coach, mentor, and develop Project Managers at varying levels of experience.
• Identify and deliver training in project management processes, financial management, scheduling, controls, and leadership.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and development of PMO personnel.
• Promote a culture of accountability, ownership, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain management-level oversight of projects and conduct recurring reviews.
