Job summary

Mountainside Treatment Center in Canaan, CT is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP, APRN) to provide psychiatric assessments, medication management, and coordination of care within a residential treatment setting.

The role emphasizes collaborative, client-centered care with a multidisciplinary team, involving crisis support, coordination with medical staff, and participation in special programs as needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing (PMHNP) is required.
• Active Connecticut APRN license is required.
• DEA registration is required.
• Valid malpractice insurance is required.
• Experience with substance use and co-occurring disorders is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document psychiatric assessments.
• Prescribe and manage medications based on clients’ needs.
• Monitor clients’ psychiatric conditions and responses to medications.
• Order, interpret, and document diagnostic tests and lab work.
• Document services and treatment plans in the EHR.
• Administer Naltrexone and Buprenorphine injections.
• Refer clients to higher level of care when indicated.
• Collaborate with Medical Director on clinical findings and status.
• Provide clinical support during crises.
• Coordinate with referral sources and other providers.
