Job summary

Mountainside Treatment Center in Canaan, CT seeks a Clinical Supervisor to lead clinical care in our residential program. This role blends direct therapy with supervision and development of clinical staff, partnering with the Clinical Director to ensure high-quality, evidence-informed care.

The ideal candidate provides individual and group therapy, completes assessments, coordinates care across disciplines, and mentors staff in a collaborative, multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or a related field is required.
• Current independent clinical license (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LMHC, or equivalent) is required.
• 5+ years of post-licensure clinical experience preferred.
• 2+ years of clinical supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience in addiction, behavioral health, residential, and/or substance use disorder treatment preferred.
• Experience with utilization review, medical-necessity documentation, and interdisciplinary care coordination preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group therapy using evidence-informed, recovery-oriented approaches.
• Complete biopsychosocial assessments, clinical screenings, treatment plans, progress notes, and other required clinical documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
• Develop and maintain individualized treatment plans, including referrals to psychiatry and other services.
• Coordinate care with clients, families/supports, medical and psychiatric providers, and external partners.
• Lead daily clinical huddles to review census, priorities, risk and safety, and care coordination.
• Lead supervision and mentorship of assigned clinical staff, including case consultation and performance feedback.
• Support onboarding, training, and competency development for new staff and interns.
