Job summary

Legacy Behavioral Health Services in Georgia seeks a compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our Crisis Service Center and Temp Ops Unit, with flexibility to cover outpatient clinics as needed. You will perform psychiatric evaluations, medication management, psychotherapy, and ongoing care under physician supervision.

The ideal candidate will hold GA licensure, have DEA licensure for scheduled drugs preferred, and work effectively within a multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• Active GA licensure required.
• DEA licensure for scheduled drugs preferred.
• Ability to formulate diagnoses based on exams, assessments and test results.
• Ability to interpret test results and make appropriate referrals.
• Strong teamwork with a multi-disciplinary treatment team.
• Ability to prescribe medications with physician approval when needed.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy.
• Experience with developing and revising plan of care and documentation to professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management.
• Provide psychotherapy and ongoing treatment for mental health and substance use disorders.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other health professionals in a team-based setting.
• Deliver crisis services and temporary observation care, with outpatient coverage as needed.
• Ensure documentation and adherence to protocols and regulatory requirements.
