Job summary

Claratel Behavioral Health seeks an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (PMHNP-BC) to provide advanced psychiatric care within our DeKalb Regional Crisis Center. You will evaluate and manage mental health and co-occurring conditions, prescribe medications, and lead crisis stabilization efforts in a fast-paced, trauma-informed setting.

The role requires robust clinical skills, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and dedication to recovery-oriented care in Georgia.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of clinical experience in a psychiatric setting; crisis or emergency psychiatric care preferred.
• Experience working with individuals with serious mental illness and co-occurring disorders preferred.
• Strong clinical documentation and communication skills; ability to lead crisis interventions.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments including history, mental status exams, suicide risk assessments, and differential diagnosis.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the client and treatment team.
• Conduct medical screenings and physical exams to determine medical stability for Temp Observation or Crisis Stabilization admission.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications according to best practices and agency protocols.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation during emergencies, and coordinate with Behavioral Emergency Response Team.
