Job summary

FirstClass Healthcare is seeking a Nurse Practitioner with a Psychiatric/Mental Health focus to provide comprehensive mental health care within a correctional setting. You will conduct evaluations, develop treatment plans, and document services for the Site Medical Director.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing with a Psychiatric/Mental Health emphasis from an accredited college or university.
• Two (2) or more years of psychiatric nursing experience in a clinical/medical setting.
• Must have and maintain current Nurse Practitioner (NP) licensure within the State of Georgia.
• Board-certified as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) within the State of Georgia.
• Must have and maintain a current DEA registration.
• Must have or attain a BLS Certification prior to the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, assessments and treatment plans in accordance with statutes, regulations and protocols.
• Provides required documentation of services to monitor provision of clinical services.
• Conducts on-site chronic care clinics and sick calls as established by the Site Medical Director or designee.
• Records encounters in the patient's progress notes and ensures proper documentation of care.
• Prescribes a planned regimen of care, appropriate to the needs of the patient.
• Educates patients about mental health conditions and treatment options.
• Consults with other medical providers and recommends treatment protocols to align with standards.
• Performs duties to support organizational goals and values.
• Adheres to federal, state and local regulations and completes required trainings.
