Job summary

The Alden Network in Rockford, IL is seeking an experienced registered nurse or licensed practical nurse to provide direct nursing care and supervise nursing assistants. The role ensures compliance with federal, state, local standards and facility policies while maintaining high quality care.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a RN or LPN in Illinois and/or Wisconsin.
• Must possess current CPR certificate or become certified within two weeks of employment.
• Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures.
• Demonstrates interest and knowledge in care of the aged.
• Must read, write, and speak English clearly.
• Must be able to make independent decisions.
• Must be able to deal tactfully with customers, family, visitors, personnel, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Must possess leadership and supervisory ability.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care and supervise nursing assistants.
• Plan and direct patient care per policies.
• Ensure adherence to department policies and dress code.
• Develop care plans for customers.
• Attend care plan conferences and report concerns.
• Maintain accurate nursing notes and charting.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered.
• Round on customers daily and coordinate with physicians.
• Foster warm and calm department atmosphere.
• Participate in continuing education.
