Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be CNA certified and listed on the TMU registry for eligibility to work in federally certified nursing homes and other care facilities.
• Not eligible if you are a CBRF Med Passer.
• PM shift is 2:00pm–10:00pm and requires adherence to medication administration standards.

Responsibilities

• Follows hygiene, safety and infection control when handling, storing and disposing of medications.
• Takes and records vital signs when required.
• Recognizes the resident's right to refuse medication and notifies RN/LPN as needed.
• Consults with licensed staff to clarify orders perceived as unsafe or inaccurate.
• Monitors residents who self-administer medications and reports deviations to the nurse.
• Secures medication cart and maintains medication inventory.
