Responsibilities

• Follows hygiene, safety and infection control when handling medications.
• Takes and records vital signs when required.
• Recognizes resident's right to refuse medication.
• Notifies RN/LPN when deciding not to administer medication.
• Consults with licensed nurse to clarify orders when needed.
• Monitors residents who self-administer medications.
• Secures medication cart and maintains inventory.
• Documents medication provision accurately.
• Reports unsafe conditions related to medications.
