Job summary

Sheridan Village Nursing and Rehab is seeking a PM Nurse Manager, RN to lead the overnight team on a 7pm-7am shift. You will oversee clinical care, staff supervision, and incident investigations while coordinating with day leadership.

The role emphasizes clinical mentorship for RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, with a focus on patient safety, regulatory adherence, and effective handovers to day shift. Illinois RN licensure required.

Qualifications

• Unencumbered Illinois RN license required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a Skilled Nursing facility.
• Previous supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assess night staffing levels and reallocate personnel across units to fill unexpected absences.
• Serve as the main administrative and clinical link between on-duty staff, off-site directors, and the on-call administrator.
• Enforce facility policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage, document, and investigate overnight staff or patient incidents and accidents.
• Deliver a comprehensive shift handover report to incoming day-shift leadership.
• Work directly on the nursing unit when necessary due to call-offs or shortages.

Shift is 7pm-7am

Core Administrative Tasks

• Assess night staffing levels and reallocate personnel across units to fill unexpected absences.

• Serve as the main administrative and clinical link between on-duty staff, off-site directors, and the on-call administrator.

• Enforce facility policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.

• Manage, document, and investigate overnight staff or patient incidents and accidents.

• Deliver a comprehensive shift handover report to incoming day-shift leadership.

• Work directly on the nursing unit when necessary due to call-offs, staffing shortages, or other operational needs.

Clinical Supervision and Resident Care

• Make frequent rounds on all units to evaluate staff performance and ensure patient care needs are met.

• Act as a clinical resource and mentor for registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and certified nursing assistants (CNAs).

• Oversee critical patient assessments, follow up on urgent lab results, and coordinate physician notifications.

• Respond immediately to facility emergencies, code calls, or rapid-response events.

• Oversee patient bed management, admissions, transfers, or discharges occurring during overnight hours.

To be eligible for consideration applicants should have:

As a minimum, an unencumbered State of Illinois Registered Nurse (RN). One (1) year of experience in a Skilled Nursing facility and previous supervisory experience required.
