Job summary

Nexstar Media Group Inc. operates FOX8 in the High Point market, inviting a seasoned anchor/reporter to present the 5pm, 6pm and 10pm newscasts. The role blends on-air anchoring with investigative reporting, and requires active involvement on our streaming app and website.

The ideal candidate has at least four years in news reporting and anchoring, a broadcast journalism degree or equivalent experience, and strong communication skills to meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years’ experience in news reporting and anchoring.
• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

• Ensures that all news content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
• Writes and delivers news stories clearly and concisely.
• Assists in writing, copy editing, researching and coordinating news programming and other content.
• Acts as a field anchor as assigned.
• Responds to breaking news and urgent newsroom situations as required.
• Participates in promotional activities including public appearances.
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
