Job summary

The Maintenance Engineer is an hourly staff position within the Engineering department at Hotel Valley Ho in Scottsdale, AZ. The main focus is preventive and unscheduled maintenance of hotel systems and responding to guest requests.

You will be proactive in solving daily challenges, learn and use the department's computer-based systems, and work with electrical, plumbing, and HVACR equipment. Prior resort maintenance experience is preferred and English communication is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to explain and demonstrate essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Adequate written, verbal, and spoken English communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Previous resort maintenance or a similar field is preferred.
• Proven mechanical aptitude in HVACR, electrical, plumbing, building systems and/or repair.
• Basic understanding of Windows-based computer systems or the ability to learn pertinent applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM and repair work on building systems and mechanical equipment within the hotel.
• Assist guests with service requests on an as-needed basis.
• Learn and become proficient in computer-based systems used by Engineering (e.g., energy management, key systems, CMMS, HVACR controls).
• Work with electrical circuits, plumbing systems, and a variety of tools.
• Approach challenges with a positive and proactive attitude.
• Ensure work is completed on time and to satisfaction.
