Job Overview

Ensure proper service quality, oversee sanitation, and train line cooks.

Responsibilities

  • Verify all items against recipe cards, follow use records, and ensure quality presentation.
  • Monitor line setup for efficiency during meal times.
  • Maintain equipment and uphold cleanliness standards.
  • Prepare food following recipes and standards, coordinating with servers.
  • Manage food prep timing, avoid over-preparation.
  • Label and rotate perishables per SOP, maintaining proper temperatures.
  • Check stock levels, prepare necessary items, and set up lines.
  • Identify shortages and out-of-stock items.
  • Store unused food properly, covering and dating perishables.
  • Assist in controlling food costs, waste, and usage as per SOP.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1-2 years in a related role with this or other organizations.
  • Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of cooking practices and kitchen procedures.

Physical Demands

Includes lifting up to 70 lbs, climbing, bending, full mobility, standing for long periods, hearing timers, and visual accuracy. Temperatures may vary from -10°F in freezers to over 100°F on the line. Reasonable accommodations can be provided for disabilities.
