Job summary

Cambria Downtown Austin Hotel, part of Pyramid Global Hospitality, is seeking a Full-Time PM Line Cook to join our Food & Beverage team. In this role you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, following recipes and presentation standards, and ensuring food safety and sanitation in a fast-paced hotel kitchen.

You will set up the line for the evening shift, coordinate with culinary leadership, and help develop menus that reflect seasonal availability.

Qualifications

• Previous line cook experience in a hotel or breakfast setting is a plus.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to read and interpret guest tickets, BEOs, and special requests.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily set-up duties for the evening shift in a timely manner.
• Cook items by grilling, frying, sautéing, steaming, and other methods as specified.
• Follow cross-contamination protocols and maintain cleanliness.
• Prepare dishes according to the hotel's menu specifications and dietary requirements.
• Read and interpret orders to ensure timely preparation.

What you will have an opportunity to do:

Cambria Downtown Austin Hotel - PM Line Cook

Cambria Downtown Austin is seeking a Full-Time PM Line Cook to join our Food & Beverage team. As a Line Cook, you would be responsible for all preparing high-quality meals, ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met, following hotel recipes and/or as specified on guest check.

Successful candidates for this role will have previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment, with a strong desire to learn, develop skills and work with the culinary leadership team to create menus which reflect seasonal availability and concept of the restaurant.

Specifically, your primary responsibilities are, but not limited to, the following tasks;

• Complete daily set-up duties and kitchen line for evening shift in a timely manner.
• Cook food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, steaming, and other cooking methods as specified.
• Strictly follow all required cross-contamination protocols, company standards, and guidelines regarding cleanliness, organization and food preparation.
• Prepare and cook according to the hotel's menu specifications and guest dietary requirements for both the restaurant and banquet events.
• Read and interpret food orders and tickets accurately to ensure timely preparation.
• Communicate with restaurant staff as needed for order clarification and updates.
• Collaborate with culinary team to plan and execute daily menus and special events.
• Check the quality of food, confirming it is prepared, plated and presented in an appealing manner before served, ensuring the guest is satisfied.
• Participate in daily, routine, and detailed kitchen clean-up and maintenance tasks.

What are we looking for?

• Ability to work any day of the week , PM shifts - heavy weekends and holidays are required; flexability to work AM shifts when needed is a plus.
• Prior Line cook experience is required (hotel or breakfast experience a plus).
• Thorough knowledge of cooking techniques and proper use of line kitchen equipment, including flat grill, deep fry, oven, and sautéing.
• Ability to effectively understand and communicate both verbally and written with staff; ability to read and understand guest tickets, BEOs and special requests accurately.
• Strong culinary skills with a focus on presentation and quality.
• Strong time management and multitasking
