Job summary

Cambria Hotel Austin Downtown, part of Pyramid Global Hospitality, is seeking a Front Desk Agent to welcome guests and register them in a warm, efficient manner.

You will deliver exceptional guest service, anticipate needs, and provide information about local sights. The role requires strong communication, multitasking, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; open availability, weekends, holidays, and a high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a hotel front desk, guest services or similar service role, is required, preferably with a full‑service hotel.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must have open availability to work various shifts, AM or PM, including weekends and holidays, to meet operational needs.
  • Outgoing and engaging personality with thorough understanding of customer service behaviors and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi‑task, adapt and prioritize in a fast‑paced work environment.
  • A strong desire to make an impact on other people.
  • Strong computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office Suite Products; ability to work multiple complex systems simultaneously.
  • Capable of remaining in a standing position, either stationary or walking, for duration of shift.

What you will have an opportunity to do: We are looking for a highly motivated individuals to join us Full‑Time in our Hotel Front Desk team! As a Front Desk Agent, you are responsible for greeting and registering guests in a warm and welcoming manner, delivering excellent guest service to elevate every aspect of their stay, and anticipating guest needs to create a personized and memorable experience. The ideal candidate uses their engaging personality to create a memorable first impression for our guests. While checking in, registering guests, the Front Desk Agent is a source of knowledge for the guest for everything about the hotel, its amenities, and the local Downtown Austin and surrounding area.

  • Help guests discover their “Wanderlust” experience
  • Provide exceptional customer service by being engaging and taking sincere interest
  • Check guests in, ensuring proper credit is received, special requests are noted and fulfilled, and accurate information is established.
  • Help to resolve problems and “WOW” guests through recovery when things aren’t quite right
  • Promote and sell special hotel programs.
  • Interact with hotel/resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information.
  • Be knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and policies.
  • Maintain house bank.
  • Communicate all pertinent information to manager on duty.
  • Follow set procedures on posting, charges, cashing checks, safe deposits, and refunds.
  • Assist other departments as needed.

  • Previous experience in a hotel front desk, guest services or similar service role, is required, preferably with a full‑service hotel.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must have open availability to work various shifts, AM or PM, including weekends and holidays, to meet operational needs.
  • Outgoing and engaging personality with thorough understanding of customer service behaviors and strong interpersonal skills.

  • Must be High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in hospitality or related field preferred.
