Job summary

Colwen Hotels' Farmhouse Social in Portland, ME is seeking a friendly Host to greet guests, manage wait times, and escort guests to their tables. You will coordinate with servers, handle reservations, and help maintain a welcoming, efficient dining area.

The role requires excellent customer service, strong communication, and the ability to work a flexible 7-day schedule including nights and weekends. Prior host or server experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to operate point-of-sale system.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Team-oriented and able to collaborate with staff.
• Maintain personal hygiene.
• Previous experience as a host or server preferred.
• Willingness to work a 7-day rotating schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome each guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly greeting (use guest name whenever possible).
• Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists.
• Manage reservations.
• Escort guests to assigned dining or bar areas.
• Provide menus and announce server's name.
• Greet and thank guests upon departure.
• Coordinate with wait staff on seating options.
• Maintain a clean reception area.
• Cater to guests who require extra attention.
• Answer incoming calls and address guest queries.
• Assist Servers as needed.
• Assist with other restaurant tasks such as cleaning the dining area and preparing silverware and condiments.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Description

Sheraton at Sable Oaks's Farmhouse Social, a Colwen Hotels Property, is seeking a friendly and engaging Host to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for greeting and welcoming guests to the restaurant, providing accurate wait times, and escorting guests to their dining area.
