Job summary

Revolution is now hiring an Extruder Operator in Vernon, CA to run extrusion machinery, feed materials, perform quality checks, and maintain equipment. The role requires standing for long periods and the ability to lift 50 lbs, with shifts including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities include verifying dimensions with gauges, addressing product quality, and adhering to Safety Policies and environmental guidelines.

Qualifications

• 1 to 2 years of experience running extrusion machinery.

• Good communication with Supervisors.
• Willingness to work shifts including nights and weekends.
• Ability to read and understand numbers.

Responsibilities

• Confirm the job order before starting the machine.
• Add granular materials and coloring pigments to the hopper.
• Fill hopper with materials using suction hose or hoppers.
• Clean and maintain machinery, tools and work area.
• Check product width with a tape measure and ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Monitor product quality through inspections.
• Report mechanical problems to Supervisor and mechanic.
• Follow Safety Policies and Procedures including Lockout/Tagout.
• Wear required safety equipment.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

• Before shift starts will need to confirm the job order with the machine it's running on.
• Add granular materials and coloring pigments to machine hopper according to formula.
• Fill machine hopper with materials, using suction hose or hoppers.
• Clean and maintain machinery, tools and work area.
• Check product with tape measure to assure width consistency.
• Monitor quality of product through 1st and final inspection as required.
• Understand all environmental policies and significant environmental impact of job activities.
• Examines extruded product for defects, for example wrinkles, bubbles, holes, and splits.
• Measures extruded rolls for conformance to specifications, using micrometers, and gauges, and adjusts speed and air controls to obtain product of specified dimensions.
• When run is completed acquire assistance for removal of rolls.
• Remove the rolls, weighs and sets them on the floor for printing.
• Reports all mechanical problems to Supervisor and mechanic.
• Maintains a quality oriented attitude in the workplace.
• Works in a safe and accident-free manner.
• Follows all policy and procedures, all Safety Policies and Procedures, including but not limited to Lockout, Tagout, Block out procedures.
• Wears all required safety equipment.
• Works effectively with workers in a constructive and positive manner.
• Listens to and objectively considers ideas and suggestions from others.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
