Job description

Revolution is now hiring for an Extrusion Manager position in Kilgore, TX. Here is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for a challenging opportunity with a growing company.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ DUTIES:

  • Directs and coordinates activities of production department(s) in processing materials or manufacturing products in industrial organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
  • Analyzes production schedule to estimate worker hours and create machining schedules that meet both internal and external customer needs.
  • Reviews production schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations and establishes priorities and sequences for manufacturing the products.
  • Oversees and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
  • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance, safety and optimum utilization.
  • Develops and/or revises operational practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Compiles stores and retrieves production data.
  • Responsibilities include Employee Relations:
  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees
  • Planning, assigning and directing work
  • Rewarding and disciplining employees
  • Directs, evaluates and coaches subordinate supervisor(s) and/or lead men who supervise subordinate employees within the department.
  • Team Player and Team Builder – helps build comradery and team spirit.
  • Ensures safety practices are being followed and oversees safety training within the department.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Prefer a Technical, Associates’ or Bachelors’ Degree in related field.
  • 3-5 years’ management experience in a manufacturing environment (prefer extruding exp.).
  • Blown Film Extrusion knowledge/experience is required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPENTENCIES:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Communication skills are necessary to direct the activities of workers, communicate company policies, train employees and prepare written reports for management.
  • Supervisory skills including hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, disciplining, and performance management of employees.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and Adobe PDF.
  • Working knowledge of compensation practices, personnel practices, federal and state employment laws.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing safety & quality practices.
  • Prefer experience with continuous improvement (Lean, OSHA 10 General Industry, Six Sigma, etc.)
