Emerald-Nursing- seeks a Dietary Aide to support the dietary team in a skilled nursing facility in Lincoln, NE. You will assist with meal prep, serve meals, and help maintain kitchen cleanliness while respecting resident dietary plans and safety standards.

The role operates Mon-Fri 4p-8p with rotating weekends, requiring good teamwork, reliability, and basic food safety knowledge. On-site, supportive environment with opportunities to learn.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Previous experience in a food service or healthcare setting is a plus but not required.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs., standing and walking for extended periods, and capability to handle hot and cold food items.

Responsibilities

  • Meal Preparation: Assist with preparing and cooking meals according to menu plans and dietary guidelines. Follow standardized recipes and portion sizes.
  • Food Service: Serve meals and beverages to residents in a timely and courteous manner. Ensure that meals are presented attractively and at the appropriate temperature.
  • Dietary Compliance: Adhere to residents' dietary restrictions and preferences as outlined in their care plans. Maintain accurate records of special dietary requirements and report any deviations.
  • Communication: Report any changes in residents’ conditions or concerns to the nursing staff or supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with inventory control by checking and storing food supplies. Report any shortages or expired items to the Dietary Manager.
  • Resident Interaction: Engage with residents in a friendly and respectful manner. Address any food related concerns or preferences they may have.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other dietary staff, nurses, and caregivers to ensure seamless meal service and address any resident needs.
  • Compliance: Follow all facility policies, health regulations, and safety procedures. Complete mandatory training and attend meetings as required.
