JOB SUMMARY:

The purpose of this position is to assist nurses in providing resident care, primarily in the area of the daily living routine.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must hold a current Certified Nurse's Assistant certificate in the State of Illinois.
• A high school diploma is preferred.
• Ability and willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English clearly.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be physically and mentally capable of performing routine, repetitive job duties.
• Show willingness to provide good nursing care.
• Be considerate, pleasant, and professional in duties.
• Have compassion, tolerance, and understanding for residents.
• Knowledge of JCAHO, OBRA, IDPH, and HFS regulations related to duties.

MAIN DUTIES:

1. Support the facility's philosophy of care and strive to achieve its goals.
2. Respond professionally to residents' families.
3. Carry out assignments including bathing, dressing, grooming, shaving, feeding, restorative procedures, and retraining.
4. Maintain cleanliness of residents' areas.
5. Answer call lights promptly.
6. Assist with resident check-in, transfers, and clothing management.
7. Report changes in residents' conditions.
8. Turn bedridden residents every two hours or as needed.
9. Wash, clean, and dry incontinent residents.
10. Assist the treatment nurse as needed.
11. Complete shift reports and document in EMR.
12. Monitor and report on residents' well-being and safety.
13. Ensure work areas are safe and equipment is maintained.
14. Follow infection control and safety policies.
15. Maintain confidentiality and resident rights.
16. Attend meetings and educational sessions.
17. Perform other duties as directed.
