Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, one-on-one ABA services to assigned clients in home and community settings.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising BCBA or LBS.
  • Implement behavior-reduction and skill-acquisition strategies using approved ABA techniques.
  • Collect accurate data during each session to measure progress toward goals.
  • Complete clinical session notes accurately and within timelines.

  • Support clients with communication, social, behavioral, adaptive, and daily living skills.

  • Communicate significant changes and safety concerns to the supervising clinician.

PM Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) – Evening Shift

Location: Pittsburgh Area – 15025
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Afternoon/Evening Hours
Pay: $21–$26 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Employment Type: Part-Time / Caseload-Based

Position Summary

Kutamani Developmental Services is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to provide afternoon and evening ABA services to children in the Pittsburgh area, primarily within and around the 15025 ZIP code.

The BHT is a direct-care professional who works one-on-one with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder or related developmental needs. Services are primarily provided in the client’s home and community during after-school and evening hours.

The BHT works under the clinical supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Licensed Behavior Specialist (LBS). The supervising clinician develops the client’s individualized treatment plan, while the BHT implements interventions, collects data, documents each session, and communicates observations and progress to the clinical team.

This position is ideal for candidates seeking consistent afternoon/evening work and those interested in gaining hands-on experience in ABA, behavioral health, psychology, education, social work, or related fields.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide direct, one-on-one ABA services to assigned clients in home and community-based settings.

  • Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising BCBA or LBS.

  • Implement behavior-reduction and skill-acquisition strategies using approved ABA techniques, including natural environment teaching (NET) and other individualized interventions.

  • Collect accurate and objective data during each session to measure client progress toward treatment goals.

  • Complete clinical session notes accurately and within required documentation timelines.

  • Build positive and professional therapeutic relationships with clients and their families.

  • Support clients with communication, social, behavioral, adaptive, and daily living skills as identified in their treatment plans.

  • Respond appropriately to challenging behaviors by following the client’s behavior intervention plan and approved non-aversive strategies.

  • Communicate significant behavioral changes, safety concerns, incidents, and barriers to treatment to the supervising clinician.

  • Participate in required supervision meetings, trainings, monthly check-ins, and professional development activities.

  • Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements and Kutamani policies.

  • Maintain reliable attendance and consistent availability for assigned afternoon/evening cases.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; college coursework or a degree in Psychology, Education, Human Services, Social Work, or a related field is preferred but not required.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Successful completion of the 40-hour RBT training or willingness to complete the required training.

  • Previous experience working with children, individuals with autism or developmental disabilities, or in behavioral health, education, direct care, or human services is preferred.

  • Ability to communicate professionally with clients, families, supervisors, and clinical team members.

  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to client homes and community locations in and around the 15205 area.

  • Ability to successfully complete all required background checks and clearances before providing services.

  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including frequent sitting on and rising from the floor, kneeling, bending, walking, and actively engaging with children.

  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 40 pounds.

Schedule & Availability

This opening is specifically for PM/Evening availability.

Candidates should be available to work primarily Monday through Friday during after-school and evening hours. Exact schedules will depend on assigned client needs and availability. Consistent weekday afternoon/evening availability is strongly preferred.

Additional hours or weekend opportunities may become available based on client needs.
