Job summary

The City of Colorado Springs is seeking a Skilled Maintenance Technician I or II on the Plumbing Mechanical team to perform construction, maintenance, and repair duties across city parks and buildings. The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and high-quality workmanship in plumbing systems.

Salary is competitive hourly pay based on experience, with Technician I and II levels; on-call and/or overtime coverage may be required to respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• A plumbing technical maintenance craft discipline with use of analytical judgment and decision making.
• Plumbing troubleshooting maintenance principles, methods, and best practices.
• Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes and regulations.
• Basic computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office.
• Occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
• Capability of working in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Assist Skilled Maintenance Technician II and Senior level technicians in plumbing repairs across parks and facilities.
• Read and interpret plans, estimate materials, and perform backflow and irrigation maintenance.
