Job summary

City of Colorado Springs is seeking a Skilled Maintenance Technician I or II (Plumbing) to perform construction, maintenance, and repair across city parks and buildings. You will ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while supporting design and upkeep of critical infrastructure.

The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with on-call/overtime for emergencies. Wages range hourly by level: Technician I $24.02–$28.84, Technician II $28.54–$34.27.

Qualifications

• Plumbing maintenance craft with analytical judgment.
• Troubleshooting principles and best practices.
• Familiar with federal, state, local codes.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office.
• Awareness of safety hazards and practices.
• Capable working in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Assist II and Senior plumbers with repairs in parks and facilities.
• Repair and solder pipes, install fittings and devices.
• Use hand/power tools and shop equipment efficiently.
• On-call rotation for emergencies.
• Support spray park and pool mechanical work.
• Maintain ASSE backflow tester certification within 1 year of hire.
• Other duties as assigned.
