Job summary

Corteva Agriscience in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Plumbing Technician to install, repair, and maintain industrial plumbing systems across our facilities. You’ll read blueprints, diagnose issues, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

This role requires a plumbing apprenticeship or vocational training, a valid license, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to work indoors or outdoors in varying weather. Relocation is not offered.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a plumbing apprenticeship program or vocational training.
  • Valid plumbing license as required by local regulations.
  • Proven experience as a plumber.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fixtures, and plumbing systems.
  • Read blueprints and specifications to map layouts.
  • Diagnose plumbing issues and perform repairs.
  • Inspect plumbing systems for safety and function.
  • Drain cleaning.
  • Collaborate with trades, operations, and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with local codes and safety regulations.
  • Maintain records of work and materials.

What You’ll Do
  • The Plumbing Technician will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing systems in commercial and industrial settings.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.
  • Read blueprints and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials
  • Diagnose plumbing issues and perform necessary repairs
  • Inspect plumbing systems for safety and functionality
  • Drain cleaning
  • Collaborate with internal skilled trades, Operations, and contractors
  • Ensure compliance with local plumbing codes and safety regulations
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Education
  • You have your High School Diploma/GED
What Skills You Need
  • Completion of a plumbing apprenticeship program or vocational training
  • Valid plumbing license (as required by local/state regulations)
  • Proven experience as a plumber
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Physical stamina and dexterity
  • Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in various weather conditions
  • May require lifting heavy materials and working in confined spaces
What Makes You Stand Out
  • Experience with both residential and commercial plumbing
  • Certification in backflow prevention
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and occupied buildings.
  • Ability to distinguish wire colors and use diagnostic instruments.
  • Ability to respond to after-hours emergencies when required.

This position operates in office, laboratory, industrial, and mechanical room environments. Occasional after-hours support may be required for critical facility systems, outages, commissioning activities, and emergency response situations.
